The Kids Are Online: Never Too Early to Make Children Aware of Internet Privacy Protections

Parents can try all they want to remain in control of what their child encounters online, but without a real strategy in place to protect kids, it may become a losing battle. Even three-year-olds are fully capable of browsing to their favorite sites, so the sooner parents start warning their kids about trust, safety, and online personal protection, the better. In fact, as this article on MSNBC suggests, parents should create “a separate account on your computer for your child and set up the parental controls that are built into the Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
